One of the most important parts to design properly while developing a large scale game like this, whether the player realizes it or not, is the weapons in the game. How they look, how they are used and how they function, it all plays part in the immersion and what weapons the player ends up using while playing the game (now who would like using an ugly gun while traveling the wasteland? We know we don’t…). While the visuals are important, the weapons still have to be able to work as a part of the game and be reasonable to make without tremendous amounts of extra work for each weapon.

Within the story of Fallout Equestria, addiction played a very heavy role. However, due to the simplistic nature of Fallout’s addiction system, capturing that feeling of dependency that LittlePip suffered from is not really possible. This is why we have reworked the system into two parts; dependency and withdrawal, to put a greater emphasis on risk and reward. We’ve added a bit more realism on the drugs themselves.

Magic is one of the core tenets of Fallout: Equestria, with most, if not all, of the species using it in one way or another to survive. In our game, you will be able to learn a multitude of unique spells, each with their own unique upgrades and play styles. While there are limitations and restraints in the magic system, it will allow you to be to become a powerful unicorn, if you so choose.

Hello folks!

Another Design post, this time we are going to be sharing some of the foundations of the game; Skills and Attributes!
Most of you who have played Fallout know a fair bit about the attributes, skills, and levels that form the basic systems of the game. In our case we have adapted and modified the systems found in Fallout 3 and New Vegas to help improve gameplay.

So if you have seen our demo video we released about 2 months ago you may have seen that our UI for the pipbuck and HUD is a little different than what you’ve seen in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. This is to primarily to give a unique experience while exploring the Fallout Equestria universe, but also to give our game its own unique style.
